I just built a new PC and it won't boot. It powers up and everything but doesn't display anything. It basically fails the POST. The motherboard LED's indicate that the RAM is the culprit, but I tested both the sticks on my other PC and they work fine. Could this be a faulty motherboard?

Are you sure your RAM is compatible with your motherboard? Also, make sure you seat the RAM properly, often people don't realise you have to push a bit to get it to click in place. If you have any other spare RAM sticks which are compatible, test them in your system, if they don't work then you could have bad slots

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I've checked a number of times, the RAM is compatible and properly inserted in the slots. I have built PCs before so there is no doubt that the RAM is compatible and seated as it should be.

I also tried compatible RAM from another working PC and I still get the same issue. I'm also suspecting bad slots, but what are the odds of ALL the slots not working? (I honestly wanna know this)

So, i'm probably just gonna get the MOBO replaced.
