Mobo stopped working

So I recently installed an asus dvd reader into my pc and when I installed it my computer turned on but the USB ports didn't work on the front panel and the back, also my Zotac GTX 970's display ports would not work but the fan were spinning on the card and CPU cooler fan was spinning and my case fans were aswell. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this and I've tried breadboarding it.

No it hasnt I havent even plugged it in I just put it into its bracket

If it isn't connected, then the issue is elsewhere. Check all connectors on the motherboard; make sure everything is fully inserted (cables, memory modules and controllers).

The cables are in secured

Something is broken or disconnected. Was the DVD reader brand new?
