I wonder if someone could point me in the right direction on 2 questions.

Im trying to connect my asus strix z270e mobo, to my new ROG helios case.

1) The case has a usb 3.0 plug and a usb SS plug, both are identical. My mobo has a socket labelled usb 3.0. Which plug should i use? The answer seems obvious, but i just wanted to check.

2) i have the cable shown in the links below (hoping they work) the plug is 4 pins wide, arrow on the left, pins are: IIOI third is blanked. Female ofc. Any idea what it is? Or is it a redundant cable?

Thanks

Happy New Year!

1| using manuals for both parts;

with regards to the motherboard, your primary attention should be towards ports labelled 7 and 13 in the motherboard manual.

2| That's an ARGB cable. Your motherboard has 2xRGB headers, which are not the same as an ARGB header, meaning you're going to need an ARGB controller like this one:
or this one:

or their ilk.
