Mobo upgrade does it screw up windows

I dont feel like reinstalling all my games and stuff, and I've been seeing lots of people asking when they upgrade mobos do they have to reinstall windows. i don't think so but can you just make sure I'm right.

You will probably have to reinstall windows, especially if you are going from the FX platform to say ryzen or a modern intel platform. If you are going from a mobo with the same chipset to another mobo with the same chipset you may be able to get by without reinstalling windows, but even then you may encounter issues.

if your a gamer then surely you care about performance. if you leave the windows install the same and make a major change like that you will have performance and stability issues.

For the OS....reinstall on the new hardware.
