MoBo upgrade or not?

I have an AsRock H97 pro with an i5 4590 processor and gtx970. I built it this time last year. I was planning to build my son a similar computer but with a gtx960. Now I'm wanting to upgrade mine and give him my motherboard and processor to go with his 960. What motherboard should I upgrade to? Or do I need to upgrade at all?

Unless you are planning on doing some video editing, recording/streaming gameplay, you really don't need to upgrade.
