Hey guys,
I have the following configuration:

AMD FX 8350 4 Ghz
Asus GTX 760 2gb
RAM 8GB 1333MHZ Kingston
Asrock 970 pro3 r2.0
PSU Corsair Gaming Series GS800 W 80+ Bronze

I was looking at the Asus Sabertooth 990fx which seems really performing.
I am pretty ignorant about motherboards, so I'd need some pro expertise.
Now, since I do NOT do ANY overclock and still play on a single gpu, do I really need to update to 990fx? My 970 chipset works fine, never had a problem with it.
It supports fully 8 core processors up to 140w, checked on the website.
Still.... do you think I will be experiencing better performances, especially in games on the 990fx or it's exactly the same? ( with just more features for crossifire, more ports, usb etc...)

Thank you for your time! and happy new year :)

Full win - you are fine if ou choose to change your hardware. Your mobo will still be fine with a mild OC - not too extreme. Your mobo was designed to handle the previous generation cpus which were very power hungry. I would think a 4.3GHz OC is doable from what I've read at Overclock.net.

Not really, I just heard bad things about 4+1 power phase motherboards (mine is 4+1) and how FXs should ran on 8+2 motherboards for some reason.
Maybe it's just me being obsessed with performances.

Let's say I will change it in the future to do some OC...
do I really have to reinstall win 7? I got a full license with product key, don't want to loose that. How does it work?
