First time posting here so I might be in totally the wrong spot.
I recently built my SO a computer and all was going well. However I started getting this issue where the computer would turn on and there would be nothing displaying. So if this happened I would turn the computer off and back on again and the image would be there.
This happened about two or three times till other the last weekend I went to turn on the computer, and again there was no image displayed. So I did the usual and turned it off and turned it back on. Except this time it wouldn't power on.
Now I feel I'm pretty well versed in computers. I went and bought a different PSU and plugged it in. But again no booting.
What's odd to me is that not only will I not get a boot, but I can't get fans to start spinning, I can't get post, I can't even get the indicator lights to shine. So I figure it's the motherboard that went dead.
Now it's an MSI motherboard so I have to RMA it, and my question(finally) is have you ever heard of this sort of thing happening out of the blue? And if so, do you know if it can cause other components to fry.
On the mobo itself I couldn't find any broken capacitors or burn marks or anything. So I'm a little confused.
