My Mobo won't boot from USB but keeps booting into BIOS, even without pressing F2 or Del.
(I just completed built and haven't installed any OS, because I can't force the darn motherboard to boot from USB))

I have clearly indicated in Advanced Mode -> Boot Option Priorities that USB is boot source.

When I click On Exit menu item i see choices:
1) Load Optimized Defaults
2) Save Changes and Reset
3) discard changes and exit
4) Launch EFI Shell from USB drives.

I selected 2), clicked OK, and mobo restarts, then I am presented with prompt to press F2 or Del to enter BIOS mode. WITHOUT me touching any buttons, mobo enters BIOS mode.

Why is this happening?

There must be . simple solution, and it's been 15 yrs since I worked with BIOS, but I can't figire it out.

Solution
I solved the issue:

1) .iso image file has to be FLASHED/BURNED with special software onto USB, not copied. (No that's not obvious to everyone)
2) To select boot disk one must press F8 at start up (setting boot disc in BIOS is NOT sufficient. One must set this in BIOS, THEN reboot, THEN press F8 to select the drive to boot from).
I don't understand what you mean.

I stated I clearly specified Boot Order to start from USB. I can see USB that I attached in BIOS. I don't understand what you mean by "is USB an option"?

As I stated BIOS SHOWS:

Boot Option #1 . - "UEFI: general USB flash, etc..."
THat IS my USB listed right there

USB is formatted as FAT32 with GUDID.
USB has .iso immage of vmware ESXI - the installer file

The link isn't helping. I'm installing ESXI not Windows. And USB contains .iso image.
