MOBO won't boot up, possible DOA?

I recently purchased a new rig set-up and finally got everything in today. As always, I'm careful about my static charge, constantly de-charging myself (if that's what it's called), and holding things on the edges, and not on the top or bottom.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790k
Memory: 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) Corsair Vengeance Pro
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO (250 GB)
HHD: Seagate 2 TB
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G1
Graphics: MSI GTX 970

Upon building my set-up and going to boot up for the first time, it failed and nothing happened.

I tried using a screw driver to connect the + and - power switch, switching PSU's, taking out the Graphics card, I double and triple checked all of my wires and made sure that my CPU was mounted properly.

I don't know what else to do. Am I right to assume that I might have a DOA and should contact Newegg and/or Gigabyte about getting a replacement?

Thanks everyone in advance.

Went through and dismantled the board down to bare-bones. Did an external set-up, as I did before putting it in the case, and nothing happened. No noise, no lights, nothing.

Any other ideas or suggestions? Good article though.

Try a different outlet...
Are you sure your PSU is powering on?

I have already tried a different outlet.
As for the PSU, I stuck the PSU in my current rig and everything booted up beautifully.

I also attempted to put my old PSU (500w) in the bare-boned MOBO, but it did nothing (which I don't even know if it can supply that kind of needed power.)

Try using one stick of RAM you know is good and see if it boots.

Update- I guess that was part of the bench. My bad.

Without being there I'd have to say-
Bad mobo or cpu. Can replace cpu to see which one it is so you don't have to RMA both but Newegg has a 30 day return so you should be good with them.

Just a bummer.

That is what I assumed. I have been troubleshooting for the past 2 hours and decided to jump on here and see what everyone else thought. I'm going to be contacting Newegg and/or Gigabyte tomorrow for possible answers and/or returns.
