Hi there
1-Sorry to be a real pain as this may be asked before...What is the best board that can support C2D and comes without fancy options and overclocking abilities ? as I am a man that stick to the refference freqs and specificatibos ?? C2D like E6400 E660 or E4300 ?? and does this MB support my old RAM 512mb*2 bus 533MHz and can run with C2D nicely???

2-Another thing I wanted to ask , today I have updated sussesfuly my GA-945G BIOS from F6 to F8,having the file from GB website..The post reading are correct regarding the new BIOS..But Sandra (newest ver) still saying F6 !!...What is the simple program that can read the current version of BIOS I have now ...??? appreciated much

CPUZ gives accurate BIOS versions. All the major MB mfg.'s make C2D capable MB's these days. The 965 chipset is very popular. Nvidia makes SLI capable C2D boards with the 680i chipset being amongst the best performers. Gigabyte is a good board if your already familiar with things like the company's BIOS implementation and versions.

Thanks ..
I have CPU-Z newest version ...It shows the corect BIOS date but false version (F5 the original not F8 the new version) ...Did something wrong gone with updating the BIOS ?? no problem at all using the system now..only curious about the infos :(

I have CPUZ installed on at least 1 dozen computers and the program reports the correct bios on each one. It could be you flashed the bios, incorrectly and the bios didn't update.

Flash your BIOS one more time. Something is amiss.
Motherboards that overclock well also tend to be very stable at stock speeds. By not overclocking, you can add Intel brand motherboards to the list of usual suspects. P965 boards are a good choice. Avoid the cheapos and you should be fine. DDR2-533 is the stock speed (actual 266MHz) for E6400 and E6600. DDR2-400 is the stock speed (actual 200MHz) for the E4300.

Well I can't imagine going through the update process again..It's risky at the end...beside,everything is going alright...The first boot screen POST reveals the corect updated BIOS version F8 and the corect date..

I built a system with an Asus P5B Deluxe with a E6300 C2D. Its a good board with alot of upgrade potential. It can run a C2D or QX proc. Compatible with 553mhz DDR2, the one I used has crossfire in case I want to add a second vid card, and the board can take up to 8gb of DDR2 1066.

I liked the upgrade options and after a bois upgrade out of the box it ran perfect. Not sure about overclocking but this seems to be a nice board.
