Question Modded cables for Cooler Master V750 SFX PSU ?

So I am looking for modded shorter cables for Cooler Master V750 SFX. I accidentally ordered extension cables from cablemod but i can't use them. I have 2 questions.

(1) You can't use cables from different brands right? (because i can use the extension cables from cable mod so I am confused)
Note: the original cables still plugged in psu and the extension cables are plugged in gpu, mobo...

(2) What are some good (not too expensive and no months waiting) modded cables for Cooler Master V750 SFX ?

Same/different brand doesn't really matter. Even within a brand or possibly even a line, you may or may not be able to use cables from one PSU with another. Conversely, you may be able to use cables from one brand with another, though you would need to check their pinouts to see. I can't recommend any custom cables, but if you are a DIY type and have the time, you can make your own, and then they will be the exact length you need and look you want, and you can get them as quickly as you get the necessary supplies and tools ordered and make them. This is what I did, and while it took a fair bit of time researching what to get and was probably more expensive than premade cables, especially with the cost of the crimpers, I now have the crimpers and all the wiring and other supplies to do more and it was a fun and rewarding job, and my wiring is amazing, so much that I sort of regret not getting a windowed case (not typically a fan of them).

Use only the cables that came with the psu or are offered by the psu maker.
If you do not, you may suffer strange issues with supposedly "compatible" cables.
