modding to a crossover cable

hi there! how do I modify a spare usb cable and Ethernet cable to crossover cables? I have bought a second pc and wish to link 2 two directly, for music production, video and data exchange? Both 'towers' have usb and Ethernet LAN ports. I do have have ancient D-Link by STLABS but driver old, on strike.

I don't believe you need to do anything to a USB cable to make a data connection between two PCs.

Most modern network cards will use either type of ethernet cable, to make a crossover cable you need to swap, only on one end, the Rx and Tx wires.
