I recently purchased Netgear CM1100 docsis 3.1 gb modem. More than I need (100 mb isp plan currently) tried to pair it with my existing router via Ethernet connection. Router is a linksys ea6350 dual band router. Is there potential for any compatibility issues with these two devices or am I missing something. Activated new modem with my isp and get internet direct, but when I added the router to the mix I wasn’t able to get WiFi setup, my router kept flashing like it wasn’t getting any signal.

Solution
No. Use a SINGLE port on your modem to the WAN port on your router.

You may have confused your modem, by connecting directly. Even though your modem has two ports, you can only connect ONE device. The two ports are to support aggregation for more than 1 gig WAN bandwidth. You would have to have a different router to support that. Power off your modem and connect JUST your router.
