Modem/Router to Switch to another switch

Would a Modem/Router to Switch to another Switch work? Trying to do this setup so that I dont have to use too many long ethernet cables going to my room which is far from the 1st switch, and I need 3 Lan cables for my room

Yup, for all practical purposes, u can cascade as many switch as you like.
