I am having problems with my Modem; I have done everything possible (removed
& reinstalled modem, changed comm ports, checked phone lines, checked phone
numbers, dialing rules, added and removed dial up connection, disabled call
waiting, checked data bits, parity and stop bits, changed modem speeds the
list goes on and on) and I am still receving error messages: Port
disconnected due to hardware failure, Modem unable to communicate with ISP,
etc. My modem was working fine a couple of weeks ago.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. I am stumped/lost on this one.

Looks like you need to buy a new modem. Check eBay.

Try this . Go to Phone And Modem Options / Modems / Properties /
Diagnostics / Query Modem . Run this test , post back with results. Could be
software. JJ

JJ,
Ran the query many times, it says "unable to communicate with modem
properly: I think Byte may be right on this one. Also talked to my friend who
built the computer for me, he said the same thing, modem seems to be shot.
Thanks Alot for everyone's input and help, it is greatly appreciated.
