Hi, I am currently looking for a modem for my home internet(provided by Verizon) to replace a $9.99per month fios modem/router, so that I can use it with my Asus RT-66u. Is there a specific brand/spec I should be looking for or if you have recommendations that will also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Side note:I play online games and there's 1-2 people in the house who stream videos while I'm playing. Current Internet speed 50/50 Mbps and might change to 75/75 if its not enough to handle our usage.

Generally you can't especially if you have tv services from them. The device is providing internet access to you set top boxes via MOCA. Even if you do not have the set top boxes from what anyone who has tried this has found is the coax connection between the ONT and the modem/router is not your standard docsis. Besides verizion refuses to allow you to put anything on the coax except for their device.

Now if you only buy internet from them you can ask verizon to turn on the ethernet port on the ONT. You can then plug your router directly in without any modem. The ONT will act as the modem. You may have to try a number of customer reps before you find one that knows how to activate your ethernet port and release the coax one so...
