Modern warfare 2 windows 7 problems

I'm having an issue with modern warfare 2 upon completion of install when i launch the game it doesn't open No errors etc... Ive had it installed on this pc before and i had to go into a file and change a setting that i cant find now to get the game to run... ive tried the following, updated all drivers, set to admin, set to windows mode i.e xp/vista, when i launch the game i get a safe mode saying.. When i click yes it doesnt help... Ive also reset my graphics to lower levels... I run a q6600, 4gb ram, 9800gtx 1gb

It was a permissions file of sort, i just cant remember exactly what it was...
