Modified sine wave UPS question

Hi,

I'll provide you an abridged version of my issue. I recently (3 months ago) bought myself a gaming PC and started to use an UPS device, the 5S 1500i, from the start. My UPS (made by EATON) is a line interactive device with AVR (automatic voltage regulation) which has a booster + fader. While the UPS provides modified sine wave electricity, it is marketed by Eaton in my home country as a good companion for PCs and other volatile electronic devices. My PSU on my PC is the EVGA SuperNOVA 750w G2.

Having realized that my UPS does not output pure sine wave, and eventhough a lot people seem to use these modified or stepped sine wave UPSes to protect their PCs, my OCD tells me to get an UPS with pure sine wave output. The question is, could my UPS have damaged my PSU, other PC parts, or my BenQ gaming display? My PSU has active PFC, and EVGA provides a 10-year warranty for the PSU.

I have used the UPS and my PC for about 100 hours so far.

UPS come in different flavors, so it's hard to know. If the UPS uses a relatively high level step, 8 parts or more, it shouldn't cause too much issues. If it's an older model meant for linear PSU or less efficient active ones, it might cause more strain on the system and cause early wear.

If you want a decent sine wave output, cyberpower offers decent 1200VA ones that should be perfect for your case.
