[SOLVED] modifying cpu 8-pin power plug

anyone ever try to rotate the power plug 90 degrees for a cleaner look or vise versa for clearance issues

How would you "rotate" a soldered device? The traces in the circuit board wouldn't go to the correct locations.

Better not to meddle with power plugs, the power connection may become loose resulting in finicky power issues, sudden loss of power supply to CPU, random crashes.

For clearance issues you are better off buying a longer cable, or get risers, or even mod your case to accomodate clearance.

keep in mind that many of these adaptors has not been tested as a normal power supply cable would.
high current may cause these adaptor to degrade or melt.
