So I bought a modmic and some sennheiser hd598's a couple weeks ago and I'm liking the audio and sound quality. When I first got the mic it sounded overly quiet and had heavy static. I bought a USB external soundcard and it fixed it seemed to fix the quality.
Here's the problem. When I record my mic with sound recorder it sounds perfectly fine, but when I go into game, specifically Overwatch it sounds muffled and quiet, you can barely hear my voice. I'm honestly not sure why this would be as it is crystal clear when I record it with an audio recorder.
edit: I fixed the muffled sound, it was because it wasn't my default comms device but was the default device. I figured out the remaining popping sounds are just a bug to do with nvdia shadowplay, mic works fine in game now. I asked some people in game if my mic was popping and they said it was clear.
