Is anybody playing DYP or TAM?
If so, how do you get on with the extended time lines?
In DYP it takes about 10 advances to be able to irrigate.
And even TAM takes 14 moves to do the same.
It means that in Double Your Pleasure my cities never develop.

They will, it's just that the game has been improved so as to reflect
reality better. In reality progress is slower to begin with. You can
always use the doubled resources in Preferences to speed up production and
growth.

You need to change your perspective when playing mods that do that. 1st
thing is to remember that everyone else in the game has the same problem, so
it's not unique to you.

If you are having trouble expanding because of this, it just means it was
designed to have that effect. I know TAM is, and probably DYP is, tweaked to
try and limit the very early REX phase of the AI.

I don't recall what TAM is, but I am using Rise and Rule (RAR), which,
I believe is a DYP upgrade for C3C 1.22.

It is like playing a different game using the same engine as Civ3. It
takes some getting used to and strategy that once worked in C3C will
get you killed in RAR.
