I just played the demo at Best Buy the other day and all I can say is wow. Best Buy set up an Alienware rig and had speakers and everything and the game just blew me away. The graphics were OK but the gameplay was awesome, esp. the sniping part  . The only thing that bothered me was the trees. They looked too 2D especially when you come up close. Overall its a great game even though it uses the Quake 3 engine.

What's this?...ERROR ERROR ERROR...*CRASH & BURN*

It is nice, i got it 4 days ago. Unfortunately its really choppy at the moment but im sure that will be solved when i get my new mobo and GC next week. Ahh, the pleasures of AGP graphics 😀
What part did you play in demo, the beach landing is the best bit, sniping the nazis.

If all else fails, Go further :)

Its a sweet game, the graphics are really really good for it using the Quake engine.

Who ever made up the phrase, "If it aint broke why fix it" just didn't get it...

I played the part where you had to destory the mortar guns by the church. It's nice how the game allowed me to use the landscape to my advantage. Such as using ditches and sniping people from the windows. I'm going to buy it as soon as I finish my new system.

How can my feet smell if it doesn't have a nose?

Yeah it's maybe the best FPS I played in quite a while. There is also another thread about this if you search the forum.

I started the game w a gf2 and finished w a gf4. Also, because I didn't save the game when fooling w my pc, I ended up starting the game over 3 times. Even so I still had fun and couldn't wait to get back to where I was. I just finished it yesterday and it was s little sad, because I wanted it to go on and on. I loaded Wolfenstein figured I try that game next. I had it for a while now, but haven't played it much, still on the first board. Same w Ghost Recon, I haven't got passed the big bridge up a head, and I got tired of moving my men around, especially when one decides to stay be hide or block me from getting out of a door.

Hey Baby, want to play with my computer?

I also started MOH using a GF2 GTS with a Pent 900. It was a bit choppy at default settings and 800 X 600. I then got a GF4 4200 which showed the dirx 8.1 features...very nice but it was still a bit choppy. Finally I upgraded to a Athlon 1800 and now its smooth at 1024 X 760 with all graphics options on.

It's a great game with a great story and the best graphics I have seen yet.

"Its a sweet game, the graphics are really really good for it using the Quake engine"

OMG!

I was thinking the exact same thing today!!!

I just hammered through MoH, and I couldn't figure out if it was the Unreal or Quake engine. I think the doorz were the only thing that made me guess the Quake engine; they are smeared a little. The barbed wire is a little smeared too, but not terribly. The branches and leaves look like Turok's foilage; width and length, no depth.

But it really is a good game. And with me wildly moving the mouse, and the recoil of the weapon and shudder of the enemy getting blasted, it looks *so* much like the movie.

Normally, I don't really care all that much for FPS, but MoH is truely awesome.

I like the stealth missions best; several of them are like Thief, 1942-style. Trade up a bow and arrow for a silent .22 anyday. That single shot pistol would, by the way, be a completely silent weapon as opposed to a hushed weapon. Gas powered semi-automatics just don't quite get 'hushed' enough to make the silent cut...

Check out that site. They have demos created using the new Cg language from nVidia. They leave no room to complain about the trees :)

For anyone whos finished the game...

im at the bit where you get into the tank for the first time, any idea how close i am to the end of the game ?

If all else fails, Go further :)

I tried it but couldnt get connected, however that was when the game had only just come out, it might work now, ill try it later.

If all else fails, Go further :)

Playing on-line rox. If you download All Seeing Eye from www.udpsoft.com and play through that as oppose to Game Spy. Connect to the blueyonder servers e.t.c. They are the best and are fast. You'll never be off it when ya start playing on-line😀

thx, i thought gamespy was a bit crappy, ill download it when i get the time. whats it like for ping, wot would i get with a 56k?

If all else fails, Go further :)

YEEESSSSS, I just finished the game today. I loved Fort Schmerzen but the bit right at the end where you have to run out of the building was bloody hard. Oh well, i spose now ill have to try online multiplayer.

If all else fails, Go further :)

Soldier of Fortune 2 also uses the quake 3 engine, but it looks ALOT better than MOHAA (ive played, and own both). MOHAA's good, but i really prefere SoF2, especially online, its the best multiplayer ever, but SP is really awesome too, and if u got a nice comp, it will blow you away! (like the rain in the the first mission, and the character models too)

The first LAN party I went to was at a PETA convention. They booted me when I shot a crab in HL!

The single player is awesome, but the multiplayer I did not like so much. I feel just the opposite about Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

The only beef I have with MOHAA is that you tend to "stick" to walls and corners. This is NOT a Q3 thing as it is not a problem in RTCW.

If you are moving along against a wall (trying to be sneaky), I find you can get hooked (just a bit, but enough).
