[SOLVED] molex connector?

i have a backup hdd but it only runs on molex connectors and I tried connecting it to one and nothing happened? how do I make it run properly? sata connectors dont fit the slot

This is an IDE drive. Unless you have such a receptacle on the motherboard, you will need an adapter.

And being an IDE drive, you really shouldn't rely on it for backups (or anything else), because that thing is ancient.

it was connected through one molex pin in the past. will a sata > molex adapter work?

and yes im aware it's about 17ish years old but prob has like 160gb for storage idk.

SerialATA and IDE (ParallelATA) are different interfaces (aka different languages). You need an "interpreter".
