This may sound stupid but I am thinking of getting a gtx 660 for my pc and it comes with 2 molex to six pin, do I need to use both molex to run the card or can I use one?

The answer is YES, you HAVE to use both power supply connectors. Also, I hope you checked if your PSU can handle GTX 660..

It can it is a 500 watt psu but I only have one molex connection.

You can simply divide it with 4-pin molex to 2x4-pin molex adapter like such

But, to be sure, please tell your PC specs, because GTX 660, if put into one of the newer PCs may require more than 500W PSU.
