Hello guys, I wanted to know which method of supplying power is more safer or suitable for a PSU that has only one 6pin connector, when 8pin connector is required. Wanted to plug an rx570 to this unit mentioned below.

My PSU: Antec VP450 (360w across 2x 12V rails)
GPU: Planning to buy an Asus RX570 4G
CPU: i5 3470 oc'd to 3.8ghz
RAM: 3x 4GB DDR3 1600mhz
Mobo: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe

Thanks.

None of the above. The only acceptable time to use a PCIe adapter is two 6 pin to one 8 pin.
The 8 pin cable supplies up to 150w, and the 6 pin is only 75w, molex adapters are just a flat out bad idea.

If you plan to move to a GPU that requires more than a 6 pin cable, youll have to buy a new PSU.

I don't mind if my PSU fails, its already the next upgrade in my list (which is a few months far). Is the antec vp450 capable of carrying such load for a couple of months?

The consequences aren't limited to just your PSU failing.

Cheap little adapters doing more than they're equipped is a common source of office fires.

If you can't update your PSU for a few months, don't upgrade your GPU for a few months. There's a good chance you'll see even better prices then.

You just need a simple Dual 6-Pin to 8-Pin PCIE adapter, quick and easy :)
