Monitor: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Monitor-GN276HL-bid-Response/dp/B01DHTWWTM

I tried to connect the 2 together but I can't get 144 hz on the monitor , or even 100...
1) First tried with HDMI 1.4....no luck, maximum 60hz
2) I bought a HDMI to DVI adapter, and connected to the laptop with the DVI-d cable that came with la Monitor...now its shows only 60hz on all resolution. I can provide more print screens if required !

What can I do to have at least 100 Hz on the monitor please ?
Thank you !

Solution
That is a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, it will only work from a DisplayPort computer to an HDMI monitor. If that is what you are intending, then it will support up to 120 Hz at 1080p, if the monitor supports 120 Hz over HDMI.

If you want to connect from an HDMI computer to a DisplayPort monitor, you need an HDMI to DisplayPort converter:

The XG2401 supports 144 Hz over HDMI though, so you don't need an adapter if your computer doesn't have a DP port. You can just use a standard HDMI cable. That is why I suggested it.
HDMI is limited to 60hz.
You need a displayport or DVI output on the laptop if you wanted a higher refresh rate.
And HDMI to X adapter won't work for higher refresh rates.
(HDMI has a "technically" higher refresh rate than 60hz, but it's not actually the 60hz we normally talk about, it's for like 3D movies where it's "two" 60hz signals "equalling" a 120hz refresh rate (but not really))

The amazon page for your monitor even has the answer to this question, it needs to be a dual-link DVI cable, straight, no adapters.

That monitor requires a Dual-Link DVI port for >60 Hz. No adapters. If your computer doesn't have a DVI port, you need to return it and get a different monitor. Get one that supports 120+ Hz over HDMI, like the ViewSonic XG2401.
