I'm looking to upgrade my monitors to a single 34" Ultrawide 1440p display.
I am trying to figure out which option better; to buy another GPU and run SLI or to purchase a whole new (more modern) GPU.
Below are my details:
  • My current build is a Ryzen 1700, 16gb Ram, GTX980 Ti (Reference), and 600 watt PSU
  • I'm a software developer who likes to game.
  • I'm hoping for 60fps in modern titles; though 90+ fps would be ideal
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

SLI is no longer a good idea, many games are choosing to not support it, or if they do they poorly support it. If your 980ti doesn't get the job done with the games you play, you should upgrade it to a stronger single GPU.

I guess I'll try for a single used 1080ti or something (future-proofing). Thanks a mill for the advice
