Monitor and Graphics Card Problem!

My monitor is old and has only a vga slot. Now I have a newer Graphics Card without a VGA slot. Now I do not want to spend another ton of money on monitor so can I just buy an adapter of VGA to HDMI? Would it work?

Graphics Card is Nvidia GTXX 1050 Ti 4GB OC

HDMI is digital and VGA is analog, you will need a converter to convert back and forth. HDMI also carries audio so there is that to consider.
