Monitor Audio Issues with Xbox One

I bought a monitor the other day. It had no headphone jack or speakers. So today I bought some computer speakers, a MINI HDMI to RCA converter, a 3.5 mm jack to 2 RCA female converter, and a RCA coupler (to attach extra cords and stuff). My plan was to hook up an HDMI cable to the Xbox One HDMI-out port, then plug that end into the HDMI to RCA, then on the RCA end of the converter, plug in the red and white cables from an RCA cable, then put that into the 3.5mm jack converter, then use a coupler to hook up the 3.5 mm jack to the speaker cord, which is 3.5mm jack. It didn't work though. Does anyone know where I went wrong?

Using digital to analog adapters is a crapshoot. If it did work there would be hardly any volume as there needs to be amplification at the receiving end.

Best way is use an optical cable to a set of pc speakers or sound bar with optical in and a headphone jack.

Ok so my speakers have 3.5mm, and the Xbox uses digital optical. So what am I looking to get?

Well the receiving end needs to be a device that receives optical then amplifies the sound. Ie; Soundbar or Pc speakers.
