[SOLVED] Monitor Black + Keyboard Mouse not lighting up

Hi,


Monitor is powered on.
When trying to boot, GPU + MB + CPU Fan light up.
However, keyboard + mouse don't light up and monitor remains black.

NO BEEPING HEARD.


Tried: Taking the MB battery out for 20s, re-placing the RAM sticks back in, using MB HDMI slot to see if monitor would turn on, re-placing GPU back in.

Suspicions it might be MB. Please help confirm.

• i7 9700K
• 1660 Super MSI
• G.Skill 32.GB 3200hrz
• CX650M
• Z390 PLUS TUF GAMING (WIFI)

Update:

Turned monitors on and off.

Now whenever I put in the HMDI cable into the GPU or MB it will say "HMDI No Signal Detected"

Update 2;

Seated RAM stick properly in.

Keyboard + Mouse lights work.

Only monitor still doesn't work.

Suspect dead GPU.

try removing GPU and connecting to onboard graphics, does it boot?

Sorry, I've been playing around with it for a bit.

No, it's not the GPU. I tested it on my other PC and it worked fine.

I managed to get to the BIOS.
It doesn't want to boot to the m.2 nvme now.
Every time I reboot or save and exit the BIOS, it sends me back to it.

Seems like motherboard is dead. If you have another pc to test memory, cpu and psu on, you could rule those out, but from what you’re saying and with the GPU working in another machine it can only really be a dead motherboard.

I would get another one now and save a lot of wasted effort testing other components.

if it lets you update the bios from a usb stick then try that first.

Fixed now.

Had to change some settings in the BIOS for it to recognize the M.2.
