[SOLVED] Monitor black screen

Hello everyone,

yesterday my monitor has gone black, but this isn't the first time that happened, usually it goes black then I unplug the cable and plug it back to my monitor and it works again, this time it didn't work. I have a gpu that has hdmi ports and an old monitor that has vga input so I use an adapter to make it work. I used my old gpu that has vga port and it still didn't work so that eliminated adapter and gpu problems, I bought new vga cable tested it, still got black screen. So does that mean my monitor input vga port is broken or am I doing something wrong.

Idk if it's needed but I have some old samsung monitor Syncmaster 2243, my current gpu rx580, gpu for testing Gigabyte GT 240.

try with an HDMI display.
any somewhat modern TV or half decent monitor should work.

I tried today on another monitor and cable but still just black screen, maybe it's my motherboard that's broken.

If anyone is visiting, the adapter was the issue. It worked when I plugged it into a PC that was already turned on. However, when I plugged it into a PC that was turned off and then started it, it only showed a black screen.
