I recently bought a Viewsonic VA2046a. It was a cheap LED that fit my necesities, Now the monitor works but the bottom part of the screen is much brighter, like theres an light coming from the bottom thats not on the top. Its annoying because when i calibrate brightness for top bottom is too bright and viceversa top is too obscure. Ive read about bleeding, but I tought LED monitors wouldnt bleed ?

Anyways the more important is that my eyes are starting to hurt after like 5-10 mins, and that never happened with my old BenQ 2255, my eyes are red now with little red veins since i got this monitor, ive been told it could be lack of sleep/stress but ive always sleep 6 hours that never changed, only thing that changed is monitor,so im starting to wonder if its the reason.

Im asking because taking it to the warranty place, means i have to pay a cab accross the city one way and back. So im just asking if im just being paranoid or something. thanks for your time.

EDIT: Btw ist not small it covers almost 1/3 of the screen from the bottom up, gradually going darker on the top. In games is a bit les noticeable, maybe because im a bit more immerse on them.

well it seems the type and placement may cause the brightness to be more here and less there I was looking at a display and in the specs I seen it claimed edge lit so I looked it up and found what all the differences in type of backlighting can do or not do ..

to be honest I never considered backlighting before this last display and now put that on my list of things to check as far as you ask 3 or 4 other people to look and see if they notice the issue you see if they see it then it maybe not you ??

figured it was pretty well covered in that article

so the type of backlighting used for that monitor may just cause the bottom to look brighter than the top ??

I guess just google it around and find more info on this ..

So thats just part of the monitor and im just stuck with it ? Is this difference in brightness on the screen top and bot causing my eyes hurt or am i just paranoid ? (ive been to an internet cafe and the monitor there doesnt annoy my eyes at all) I just realized the little veins on my eyes are very red now.
Shall I just try and sell it for 75% its price and get me a new monitor ? im full of questions I know. Thanks for your time.

Yeah, rma doesnt really work here, id spend more on cab fees than what a new monitor would cost me.

The reason I necro this post is that, i still need help with this issue. I tried using electrical tape around the LCD screen, didnt help, as suggested in some guide, but no results, im starting to think its not bleeding but something else. Also whats weird is that when i opened the monitor i saw that the LED lamps are on the right (watchin towards the monitor). Thats the side where there should be any bleeding, but its not there but in the bottom.

Another thing is that i actually connected the screen without the metal frame or anything else just the LCD and the backligh panel, and the lightning was uniform, i dont know what happens when its put back toguether that it creates this effect.
