Hi Tom's,
Even though I'm a huge computer nerd, it isn't my day job. I have two crappy Dell E2311H monitors on my desk right now, and they KILL MY EYES! They are 1080p TN panels. I didn't even really notice the eye fatigue much until after working here for a few months. But toward the end of the week, my eyes are so tired. I review a lot of contracts, read documents, and do research to write things - all day. Days are long too. I need something better because I don't want to ruin my eyes.
I can't get anything too flashy because the atmosphere is more on the traditional side than not. No suit necessary on most days, but people still just swap out the blazer for a sweater. I also can't get anything obviously nicer than my boss, who has three better Dell screens on a special stand with three arms.
My priorities are screen real estate, non-PWM flicker, very dark blacks, and more than 100 ppi (hopefully more than 150, but we'll see what's available). Those criteria so far have led me to LG's curved 21:9 monitor. But I'm up for recommendations, especially since that might be a bit of a statement piece. Keep in mind that the screen would be up against a wall, so people will only see it from the front, which might help the LG.
