Monitor comes on after repeated power off and on

My Viewsonic monitor VX2245wm-1. Model No. VS11349 works fine once operating. But bringing it up after a shut off is a problem. Power light comes on to blue indicating all is well but the screen is blank. Repeated power off and on will eventually fix the problem. Is it on its last legs? tia

The viewsonic VX2245wm monitor uses the DAC-19M009 power supply made by Delta Electronics and this board is known to have issues with capacitors failing. When they start to fail they will not hold a charge and you get the exact symptoms you have, the power on/off will take longer and longer to display a picture until one day it will not work any more and the power supply will have failed fully. You can rebuild the board and bring the unit back to life very easy. Here is a link to a repair guide for a monitor that uses the same power supply board, it should give you the information you need to repair your board. All you will need to do is replace about 7 capacitors on the board.
