[SOLVED] Monitor damaged gpu

Hello and sorry for my bad english, i m Alex and my 11 y.o monitor made an short circuit, i had a lg flatron or smth like that and i used an vga hdmi adapter. After that happened my hdmi from the gpu stopped working and i asked a friend to test the gpu so i know if its still working. The hdmi didnt work but the displayport did so i bought a new monitor but it dosent have a displayport so i bought a adapter too (monitors with displayport are too expensive for me). I have a question, any chance that the gpu got damaged and it will not perform well anymore?

Btw this are the specs
Ryzen 5 3600x
Asus 450 motherboard
16 g ram corsair venegace 3600mhz
Gtx 1070ti 8g
750w modular psu

With GPU's,it either works or it doesnt,simple as that.
Does everything work fine?
Do u get signal from the adapter?
