Hello all,

I want to upgrade my monitor (LG 27EA63V-P) to a better one. Right now, I have it narrowed down to either an ASUS PB278Q (2560x1440, 60hz) or VG278H (1920x1080, 120hz). The only thing right now is I can't decide what would be a better trade off - a higher resolution screen with lower frame rates, or another 1920x1080 screen but with higher frame rates. I have a R9 290X, which is more than capable of handling both. Can you guys please give me some advice/opinions on what would provide the better GAMING option? Some I asked have said that after switching to higher res, you can't go back, while others have said that higher frame rates provide a better gaming experience. I play action/adventure/fps/RPG games, sometimes online here and there, but not very competitive. Any advice or opinions would be highly appreciated. Also, if you guys have other monitor brands/models that you recommend, that would be welcome as well. Much appreciated guys.

Looking on Newegg for both monitors. The PB278Q is currently at 549.99, and the VG278H is 499.99.

The thing is I like higher frame rates as well, even if I don't play shooters competitively (much). That's where my dilemma lies.
