My monitor has been quite dim and I've never really noticed until it start switching to it's normal brightness and looking great to switching back to the dim version again. It's rare that it switches to the normal brightness but when it does it only lasts a few seconds. I've tried absolutely everything In windows brightness settings to my monitor brightness settings and even my graphics card driver settings. I've also tried using a different HDMI cable which also didn't help. Hoping maybe somebody knows anything else I could try. Thanks.

With 0 word about what your monitor is (make, model, age etc), i'd say it's your monitor issue. So, if you want to get rid of it, replace the monitor.
Cheers for that. I just have a standard samsung 60hz monitor. I'd also like to mention it's always been like this since I got it a couple years ago.

There is no such thing as "standard Samsung 60 Hz monitor". Heck, would it help if i'd say that i have a: standard MSI 144 Hz monitor?

Look at the behind of your monitor, it has a sticker on it, saying it's make (Samsung) and model. Write that model name/number here.

Also, you said that you "got" your monitor. Was it used when it was handed to you?

Nah I got it new. The model number is S22F352FHU

With model name, i can access the manual,
link: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/LS22F352FHUXEN/#downloads

Try disabling:
  • eye saver mode
  • eco saving plus
  • game mode
With these three disabled, you should be able to select Custom profile within your monitor settings, so that you can adjust brightness to your needs (page 27 in manual).

Btw, my "standard MSI 144 Hz monitor" is actually Optix MAG241CR,
specs: https://www.msi.com/Monitor/Optix-MAG241CR/Specification
Yeah I had a look there and none of those are on. I'd say it's the monitor itself and Ill just get something new to be honest. Thanks for the help anyways man.
