Question Monitor disconnects then reconnects randomly

My
monitor will randomly lose the computer's signal (and therefore the image) for around 10-15 seconds before regaining it again. This will happen while I am gaming and when I'm just browsing, although it doesn't seem to happen within the first hour or so of turning on the monitor and starting my computer. I have tried switching the HDMI cable for a new one, plugging the HDMI cable into different ports (on the PC and monitor), updating my GPU drivers, restarting the computer and monitor, and reinstalling Windows. I have also tried lowering the refresh rate to 144hz from 165hz, disabling AMD FreeSync, and turning off the input auto-detect. Besides the random moments of losing connection to the computer, there haven't been any other issues. How can I fix this?

System Specs:

Monitor: Acer Nitro ED270R (bought refurbished)
GPU: RTX 3060
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X
PSU: 650W
RAM: 16GB DDR4
OS: Windows 10 Pro

Do you get display driver (Geforce) has stopped and recovered error messages? If not then it's probably not your system but might be something wrong with the monitor, being refurbished isn't a good start. Can you test another monitor or TV? Doing that would give you some idea before blaming graphics card or power supply.

What's your power supply btw and age?

Could you test monitor on a console?

this sounds like it either could be a problem with the GPU or the cable, seeing as how you have tried different cables, I think it is not the cable, it could be the GPU, but I think it could be the monitor since it was bought refurbished.

Thanks for the reply!

Power supply is quite old - over 5 years at least. I haven't gotten any error messages about the display driver. My old monitor that's a 60hz Samsung never had this issue (even with the old PSU), so I suspect it's a problem with the new monitor. I just don't know if it's hardware or software problem.

I have a Nintendo Switch I could test with it - that's a good idea. If I can determine that it's a problem with the monitor, should I just try to get it serviced or do you think there's a fix I can make on my end?

Unless you have prior experience and know what you are doing, I would not attempt to fix the monitor, I would just get a new monitor.
