Monitor Display Problems

Hello,
Hoping that somone could help me. I have an HP monitor currently hooked up to my desktop PC via a DVI cable. It is connected to my PC graphics card but I am wanting to switch the conection to the Motherboards DVI, however whenever I switch the cable over the monitors display will not come on. Works fine with the graphics card but not motherboard. Any help much appreciated.

What motherboard is it? You probably need to turn on integrated video in the bios.

Other than that it could be that the motherboard outputs an analog signal over DVI.
