I have a 49 inch monitor. Is there any way I can only use the right or left side and have the other side off or just black? It would be a lot better than shrinking the picture into the middle, leaving black bars on either sides of the screen.

TV is connected to? lets say its a computer if you cannot upgrade the graphics card to a HDMI than the middle of the screen is all you can do. If a VGA cable that is being used. Most HDTV will have limited settings for a VGA and its always in the middle.
