Monitor does not allow max resolution

hey guys ive tried searching for this but i get no answers.

so my moniotr is a 20 in i think acer monitor, when ever i turn on the pc it tells my about the optimal resolution, but when ever i set it, which is 1600x1200 it just says input not supported on the monitor.
so my max res is 1280x1024.

any help will be appreciated, thank you.

Did you install the video drivers

yea, hd 2500 lates drivers, it must be a windows error and im already on my max res

just checked monitor is an Acer V193W
its max res is 1440x900 yet i dont get the option
