monitor does not display PCI e output on Dell 531 S

Installed GEFORCE 8400GS PCIE x 16 in Dell 531 S. BIOS configured to PCIe and PCI/PCIE power at boot. Only graphics signal comes from onboard VGA nothing from Card. Thoughts?

pci-e must be the first in bios also you have to connect to the card after this not to the onboard .

What do I configure to "connect to the card after this not to the onboard"? BTW device manager says device is working properly. Iwas was wrong device manager only see onboard display adapter, not PCIe

Scout, thanks for info. Does the card require additional power? No power cables came in the package.

I fixed it reboot and change bios init display to onboard. reboot 3 time for luck. reboot and change bios init display to PCIE. Go to device manager and uninstall onboard driver and shut down box. Install card, attach cable to card, and turn on the box. Go to device manager to validate that new card has ben recognized. Go to nVida support and down load latest driver.
