I'll start by saying that my deskopt is a really old pc I built a while back.
My specs are:
Gtx 660
8 gb ram
i3
Cant remember what motherboard unfortunately.
Anyway everything was running the way its supposed to , slow like but fast enough to do some work and game a little. One day I opened my Pc and the monitor wasnt displaying anything but opening when I connect it to the computer. So I guess it recognizes it but it has no picture. Anyway i opened the case and I tried changing up the ram positions and i also left only one there but nothing fixed it. I also disconnected my gpu and CPU and reconnected it in case it fixed it but nothing.
I have a new monitor on the way since I had ordered it before this problem appeared but I'm sure that's not the case.
So my question is , how can I tell whether my CPU or my GPU is malfunctioning?
Also if I should check something else.
The hdmi cable is connected to the gpu

Solution
test with taking the gpu out and using the igpu?

one of the thing I found on the psu
