I have a DVI-D cable that I've been using with my monitor for quite some time without significant issues. I say significant because on some very rare occasions, when I turn the PC on, instead of showing the message "Press DEL or F2 to open BIOS," the monitor would switch between DVI and Analog for a few seconds before turning off. There is no "No signal" screen. Both mouse and keyboard works. I would then spend a few minutes messing with the cables, and it would suddenly work again.

Maybe is not related, but the first time i get this problem was after a blackout. I messed with the cables, but what fixed my problem that time was changing the electric extension cord.

Last week, I installed an SSD so I could dual-boot Linux and Windows, and everything went smoothly on both systems.
The problem started saturday, when i was playing on Windows and after that i decided to restart my computer to switch to Linux. When the computer turned on, the problem from the beginning of this text appeared, but i did not manage to fix it.

I had an old VGA cable from my previous computer, and it works flawlessly, but its plugged on the motherboard, so i can't use the GPU.

I don't think it's a GPU issue because, as I said, I was using it just a few moments before with no issues (probably less than 1 minute considering how fast restarting a fresh Windows from a new SSD is).

It leds me to belive that the culprit is the DVI-D cable. I didn't find any visual problems with him, both sides seems to fit normally on both the GPU and the monitor. I don't know the importance, but since my room isn't big, this cable is always curved (idk if thats the right expression)

I've been using it for exactly 5 years, so maybe it's time to buy a new one?

What i tried:
- Factory reset the monitor configuration.
- Turn off the pc, unplug it from the power supply and press the start button during 30 seconds.
- Make the monitor had manual detection instead of auto. I had both VGA and DVI cables plugged at the same time. The VGA works, but as soon i change to DVI, the screen goes black.
- Uninstalled the GPU drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller on Windows.
- Unplugged and plugged the DVI-D cable a lot of times

My setup:
Motherboard: ASUS PRIME A320M-K/BR
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2400G (using Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics as integrated graphics)
GPU: ASUS Nvidia GTX 1050Ti
RAM: 1x 8GB
HD: Toshiba 1TB (with Linux mint 21.2)
SSD: Kingstom 960 GB (with Windows 10 22H2)
PSU: Thermaltake smartseries 430W
Monitor: SAMSUNG S19C301F

Trying a fresh (known good) cable would be a good troubleshooting step.
You’ve tried a bunch of other good troubleshooting ideas already, (factory reset monitor, set manual detection, even GPU drivers) so it’s probably a good idea to test another cable. Good luck!
