monitor doesnt display after each power up

hi people i have an issue with my monitor (i think)
whenever i switch the pc on the monitor will just have a flashing standby light unless i switch the the entire system off via the wall socket (now with the pc powered up 😉)
this is the only time itll swicth on and post the image from the pc
im running an i7 5820k
16gb dominator platinum ddr4
evga classified 980ti
msi x99 sli plus mobo

the display is a samsung 4k panel (not sure on model number)

i never had this issue until i started using this panel

any ideas guys

Have you tried other connection to the monitor? Are you using Displayport or HDMI? What happens if you switch off monitor power vs. the entire system? This never happened w/ previous monitor? Just want to be sure you passing POST every time and its not the cause. Latest UEFI?
