My new monitor from Acer, KA27U, a basic 2K display, doesn't have its dedicated driver. On the Acer support page, query for the driver returns one even with KA27U titled files, but they are for totally different monitor, EB550K, according to the setup file. Hence I didn't even try to install it. On the Acer community forum someone posted about his/her experience installing it, and that person coulddn't find any solution.
Currently it is installed with the generic MS PnP monitor driver, and I wonder if this is OK over the long run. I don't anticipate specific issue, but just am curious if all monitor should have its own driver, instead of the generic version, for better performance.
