Here is a strange one with the following setup: Asus A7V 1007 bios, KDS VS-7i Monitor, and Voodoo5. I recently acquired a new monitor, and up to this point I have experienced no problems with video card & old monitor setup. The problem now is, with this new monitor, (KDS VS-7i) when I perform a cold boot I get error message beeps from the motherboard signifying video card problems. (1long 3short) I have tried several ways to pinpoint this error message to include the following methods:
1)Shut computer off and back on (Cold boot) with monitor left on= error message.
2) Shut computer and monitor off and restart with monitor left off= error message.
3)Restart computer with monitor left on, (Warm boot)= no error message
4)Shut computer off. Turn monitor off and back on and then restart computer= no error message.
I have also tried setting different “Video Off Methods” on the A7V bios, along with different I/O voltages to no avail, (Both 3.3 and 3.5volts). Also note, although I have this error message there are no other problems indicating trouble. All benchmarks are decent, no lockups, no Blue Screen error messages, etc…
Obviously, it seems as if the problem is with the monitor that only goes away when I shut the monitor off and turn back on. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any input here is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time! 28/88

Well, here's what the code means, should you need it, assuming your BIOS is Award.

Explanation: The BIOS is unable to access the video system in order to write any error messages to the screen.

Diagnosis: This is usually caused by a problem with the video card, or the memory on the video card. It can also be a motherboard issue.

That was from pcguide.com

I remember getting this code when the monitor was disconnected, it did not prevent system operation, merely beeped, then carried on.

So maybe your BIOS thinks the monitor is disconnected, have you checked all the pins on the VGA cable are present and correct?

Other than that, I'm not sure. If you're positive it only happens with this monitor you should ask the manufacturer.
