Question Monitor flicker also reduces volume?

My monitor has flicker problems that started roughly a year ago: I was playing a game and it lost the displayport signal. After some troubleshooting, I thought it was dead. Nothing recovered it, from restarts to different cables. HDMI also would not work.

I took it to my local Geek Squad and they got HDMI to work, just not the DP. I tried a new monitor, didn’t care for it, but tried it’s DP cord on my old monitor on a whim. It worked! But now, it flickers intermittenly. I assume it will die one day, so I’m saving up for a new upgrade.

However, it flickered last night and somehow also turned the volume down on my external DAC/AMP only connected via USB-C.

Do I have bigger problems than a just dying monitor?

System build? What did Geek squad to your pc to get video back?
