Hey guy's I seem to have a bit of an issue. For about I'd say a week now my monitor has been acting a tad bit strange and I'm needing an inquiry on what may be the root cause.

Before going into specifics I'll link to a couple core components in what I believe to be involved in this issue I'm having.

Monitor: Acer H6 H226

Video Card: HIS 7850 2GB

I've had the monitor for a few months now and it's been fine till recently. The video card as well has been good for a year and half now as well.

Now to the problem.

After using the computer for a while it'll suddenly start doing this. At times it will do this for a few seconds and then return back to my desktop as it was before. Later though it'll come back until I restart the computer manually.

I'm not sure whether it would be caused by software but I'm currently on the AMD Catalyst 14.6 Beta 1.0.

This flickering abomination seems to start when I open up a video file or start using youtube. I haven't encountered this problem whilst gaming so far but usually when I'll try to watch something using Media Player Classic and these video files are typically 720p or 1080p.

As you can see my second monitor isn't affected. I suspect my main monitor to be the main culprit but I have no real certainty since their are multiple factors in play here.

I appreciate any help that can be given on my situation. I'd also like to note that right as I'm writing this this main monitor is having a faint flicker. It's not real noticeable but I can tell it's there.

also if all else fails try a different cable, sometimes you get dodgy ones that will work for a while but eventually lead to problems like this (personal experience here, damn dogy cables!)

@i7Baby Cables are doing fine as far as I can tell. I just restarted my computer and the faint flickering is gone at the moment. Also I don't have another video card to test and even if I did it would take a long time for the problem to arrive. It usually takes half a day for my monitor to start doing this after I restart the entire computer.

@Panda Currently don't have any other cables to try out right now.

edit:

I'm curious as to the correct term for this kind of flickering that is seen in those two pictures. I'm thinking the monitor must be at fault but again I'm unsure really.
