Hey All,

I bought an ASUS X750J a couple of years back because I couldn't afford the Macbook Pro for design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Lightroom.
The X750J is decent, however the display is the only thing holding it back, being washed out and not showing true colours, and when design comes to print, you can expect that to be annoying with unexpected results.

Luckily I have a HDMI port to add an external display.

I'm looking for a display close to the Macbook's retina display, or something that's sharp and shows true colour.

My budget is $600.

I usually shop at www.centrecom.com.au
Other stores are welcome

Cheers.

Solution
Get this SONY XBR43X8000D if there is no problem with space. It provides perfect colors. There is no monitor that can be compared to this TV performance wise for providing accuracy in colors.

If you have issues with fitting it in and having lesser space please reply back.
